43rd Annual Scientific Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Nephrology 42nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Nephrology

Welcome message:

Dear friends and colleagues,

With plans well established for this landmark ESPN conference, the nephrology community of the United Kingdom looks forward to welcoming you to Birmingham. The programme has been designed to be thematic. This follows the tradition of the Renal Association, a proven way of integrating science and clinical practice that advances knowledge, skills and care. One theme concerns cystic kidney diseases and very new concepts of pathogenesis and treatment.

Conferences need to be truly recreational to allow for professional interaction and to strengthen international friendship. This is a design detail every bit as important as the scientific programme. The University campus is an ideal space for this. Travel to and within Birmingham is easy. Accompanying delegates will have plenty of opportunities to see some of the natural beauty, history and culture of central England, and sights that are not on the usual tourist routes.

Our web site will keep you informed of all that you will need to register, submit abstracts, book accommodation or deal with any special needs that you have.

We hope you will make ESPN 2009 a priority, and together we will make it a success.
